Purple Heart

Actually, it's more of magenta or hot pink with copper undertones.  When I bought these heart beads,  I really didn't know what I was going to do with them, I just really liked them.  I started and stopped on a couple of designs, then I rummaged around in my other beads and finally came up with this design.

I really, really like it.  The heart beads are about an inch across and are backed in copper and coated with an iridescent coating.  I found the pearls on sale several moths ago at Fire Mountain Gems.  I think they coordinate beautifully.

Yes I know it's kind-of purple, and I know I make too much jewelry in purple, but I just can't help myself.

I keep thinking about what I have to wear with it, just to test it out.  It needs something dressy and it will really make a statement.

Look for more heart related jewelry. I'm really looking forward to Cupid's Gems this year.

Hearts - Inspired by my imagination!!

I was shopping in Hobby Lobby last Saturday with the sole intention to find heart shaped beads for the Cupid's Gems show in February (see the previous post for the date, time and location).  I found a bunch of heart shaped beads and findings.  But a set of black and white glass lampwork beads immediately set my imagination into overdrive. I couldn't wait to get home and get to work.  The lampwork beads were very well made, great detail and excellent quality.   I was so excited that they looked exactly like I wanted them to look.  Yeah!!!!!

Here is a full view of the necklace.  This is exactly what in envisioned.

This is a close up of the pendant and the "fringe".

The earrings are simple and fun.  The earring posts, as well as the chain, clasp and wire in the necklace are sterling silver.

I haven't priced the pieces yet, but check in on the Details Jewelry Facebook page over the weekend to see if I have posted these photos.  I try to include the cost of the pieces in case anyone is interested.

I have lots of other heart beads to work with, so I'll be busy until February 6.  Please come visit us at Cupid's Gems in Lenexa.  It's always a fun show.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year.  I hope 2016 is healthy, happy and prosperous for you and yours.

I realize I haven't posted anything recently.  Just enjoying some down time before our first show of the year.

There was a Gem and Mineral show in my area this fall and I took a friend who had never been.  Donna is a very creative energetic person and was so stimulated at the show, she was giddy.  She was so inspired that she is now making jewelry for her family for Christmas.  She started with her sisters and sister-in-law and will soon be moving on to her nieces. Her pieces are very creative and beautiful.

It looks like there will be lots of hearts and flowers for Details Jewelry in February.  We will again be at Cupid's Gems show on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 10:00 to 5:00 pm at the Thompson Barn, 11184 Lackman Road, Lenexa, Kansas.  We end the month in the same location.  We have also been accepted to the Lenexa Bridal Fair on Sunday February 28, 2016. The Bridal Show will be our first foray into this type of venue.  We are looking forward to it.   We hope to see you at one of these shows.

I look forward to a profitable 2016.
